Midwifery is the health science and health profession that gives the necessary support, medical care and advice during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Medical care includes preventive measures, early detection of complications in mother and child, promotion of normal birth. Nurse midwives also involved gynecological care and prescribe birth control. Midwives are exceptionally skilled to assist with a normal vaginal delivery. Midwifes are more comfortable with patients and they accomplish their duties such as health counseling and education, not only for the woman, but also to the family and community. In addition to this midwife performs duties such as returns the baby to the mother as quickly as possible, Skin-to-skin interactions, which regulates the baby's heart rate, oxygen saturation, breathing, and temperature—and encourages bonding and breastfeeding.
